After three years there, he moved to Murray-Goulburn Co-operative, Rochester, as Field Services Manager. There he was responsible for the provision of farm services to 810 dairy farms in Northwest Victoria. His role included the provision of extension programs, discussion group facilitation, financial and management advice and the development of broader company policy.

In 2004 he became a Director of, and Farm Management Consultant for Farmanco Pty Ltd, a company that Ian Gibb formed with his original business partner, Stuart Brown in July 1989.

The majority of the work undertaken by Farmanco is the provision of farm management advice and services to farmer clients. A secondary, but important component of the work undertaken by Cameron is project work for the Government and service sectors to the dairy industry and is also involved in communication and training work within the dairy industry and at times is called on as an expert witness in litigation.

Project Work

The main professional task performed by Cameron is the application of farm management economics to the operation, purchase and development of dairy farm businesses. Cameron has developed expertise in cash flow budgets, partial budgets and development budgets, all of which are very specific to our client base. As a result of Cameron’s experience in these areas, he is also frequently used by organisations associated with the dairy industry as well as other service providers in the region.
